Opened in January of 2007, The Renaissance Providence Hotel is the result of the largest historic restoration project in Rhode Island history. The renovation of the 1927 historic landmark Masonic Temple into the luxury Renaissance Providence Hotel will provide guests with a unique choice of destination combined with expressive design, delightful luxury and savvy service.
The Preserving Providence Society has awarded the Renaissance Providence Hotel / Masonic Temple Rehabilitation project a Special Award in Preservation Award at their 2007 Annual Meeting and Awards Presentation.
The award recognized those individuals and organizations that contributed to this project which has been referred to as “the largest preservation project in the history of Rhode Island” and is inarguably the most important preservation project of a severely threatened historic building in Providence. Also presented at this year’s meeting were the PPS Volunteer of the Year and President’s Award.
