Zachary T. Neumeyer is the Chairman of Sage Hospitality Resources. Sage Hospitality is based in Denver, Colorado, and specializes in the operations, acquisitions, development and capital transactions for hotels. Sage has owned and operated over 300 hotels across the nation. Sage has invested over $2.5 billion in hospitality assets.
Mr. Neumeyer was a founder of Sage Hospitality Resources in 1983 and served as its Chairman, President and CEO for 20 years. In 2003 Mr. Neumeyer left company operations, but remains active as Chairman of Board of Sage. In addition to Sage he is an active investor in other private companies. He is or has been an investor and board member of companies in the technology, communications, manufacturing, senior housing, banking and service industries.
Mr. Neumeyer is active in not-for-profit organizations and has focused his efforts on education reform. His activities in education focus on improving governance, finance and system transformation, great teachers and school leaders, building a reform movement and providing access to high quality early childhood education. Neumeyer is Chairman of Teach For America Colorado, serves on the TFA National Council and is founder and Board Chair of Colorado Succeeds. He is a board member of Colorado Children’s Campaign, Mile High Montessori and Qualistar.
Mr. Neumeyer has worked with Colorado state government as a community leader in numerous capacities. These have included the Education Transition Committee for Governor Hickenlooper. Under Governor Ritter’s administration he served as Co-chair – Systems Transformation: Governor’s P-20 Council and a member of the Business Advisory Council for Higher Education. For Governor Owens, Neumeyer served on the Jobs Cabinet for the Colorado Department of Economic Development.
Neumeyer is a past trustee of the University of Denver and remains active with the Executive Advisory Council. Neumeyer was one of the founders of the Denver PreSchool Program which provides universal preschool for every child in Denver. He was recognized by the Colorado Children’s Campaign as one of the 20 most influential Coloradans for Children’s welfare. Neumeyer has taught or lectured at Cornell University, University of Colorado, Harvard University and The University of Denver.
Mr. Neumeyer is a graduate of Cornell University, and lives in Colorado with his wife Amy and son’s Max and Joseph.
