Creating a place from the ground up, this bustling corner of Fort Collins, Colorado features Sage Restaurant Concept’s Emporium Kitchen & Wine Market, Magic Rat Live Music and Sunset Lounge. It’s the center of this Colorado community.
The city of Fort Collins has been booming for years. With a hip college scene, pedestrian friendly Old Town and enough breweries to have the reputation as “the Napa of beer”, the city was desperately lacking in hotel rooms. Sage Hospitality Group and our investment partners saw the opportunity for a hotel in Old Town but knew the actives streets demanded excited food and beverage options, something that welcomed everyone and a new community center where Fort Collins could come together.
The energy of Old Town spurred the creation of not one, but three constantly buzzing
Sage Restaurant Concepts. Emporium Kitchen and Wine Market showcases locally-sourced,
quality menu items and a choose-your-own wine concept that also acts as a market and shop.
Magic Rat Live Music features live and local musicians with a bar and patio. And on the top
floor with sprawling Rocky Mountain views, Sunset Lounge plays live jazz nightly with crafted
cocktails served in the tastefully designed space. In this perfect draw for both visitors and
locals, there is something for everyone.
As a member of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, this hotel needed its own independent
personality. The Elizabeth Hotel is named after an original settler of Fort Collins “Auntie”
Elizabeth Stone. But there is more to Fort Collins than its history and Sage Studio found
inventive new ways to tell it. From signature themed suites to a Music Lending Library that
holds both priceless music memorabilia and instruments, vinyl and record players for rent.
Guests are encouraged to experience The Elizabeth’s story, rather than read it.

There are a few things Fort Collins is known for, and Sage Studio chose to capitalize on those reasons by creating signature suites, one for each story line for guests looking to celebrate their visit or just experience something wildly different.
Signature suite themes include the Music Suite with a master piano and shelves adorned with music memorabilia. The Rams Suite in honor of Colorado State University painted in dark green hues, equipped with games and historic photos from the school. And the Bikes & Beers Suite which includes a stocked beer fridge, keg tap, beer pong table, bike rack and large terrace with a fire pit.
Sage Investments partnered with majority owner Bohemian Companies on this project with the intent to create a space that the northern-Colorado based company could be especially proud of. Our owner/partners brought specific insight to the needs of the local area and they were involved in every step of the development process. The Elizabeth Hotel and its F&B outlets are a shining example of how Sage can partner with the right developers to bring amazing things to realization.
